Instant Ramen, Glorified

Remember when I said I love noodle soups? Well. that statement includes instant noodles.

This take though is “glorified” because I’ve recently discovered a hack to upgrade instant noodles! And it was purely by chance, when I was watching a Youtube video and an advertisement popped up and showed the hack!

The hack basically is adding an egg beaten with some Japanese mayonnaise to a just cooked instant noodle bowl. There are a few variations where the soup is added to the beaten egg with mayo in the bowl… as well as additions of garlic, and other stuff…

In my case, after experimenting a few times, and after hubby’s comments, have decided that the way we wanted our glorified instant ramen was to beat an egg with about a tablespoon of Japanese mayo, half a teaspoon of fried chopped garlic, and half of the seasoning powder of the noodle pack itself . Meanwhile cook the instant ramen in 420g boiling water and the remaining half of the seasoning powder, only just until the noodles are still a bit chewy. Pour the whole thing into the bowl with the beaten egg and stir immediately to mix everything. Add garnishes as desired but at the very least, with a dash of sesame oil and a sprinkling of sesame seeds, and maybe even more fried garlic bits.
